Beyond FTP Alerts Screen
The Mail Me dialog is actually a
separate program. It appears when you choose the Configure and Test
button. You can create and manage the parameter files used in Alert
commands.
Mail Me provides several different mechanisms for determining the
target mail server. First, connection settings can be saved under an
identity name that is then associated with the mail parameter file
when it is saved. These settings are used when the associated Alert
command is processed. Second, the domain information for the
recipient address is used to perform a DNS lookup and retrieve the
associated mail server address for that domain. Third, the default
connection settings are used.
The following parameters may be used for dynamic replacement of
values at compile and run time:
%0 Insert the text parameter from the alert command.
%1 Insert the file name of the last action that failed.
%E Insert the numeric error value of the last failure.
%T Insert the short error description of the last failure.
%V Insert the verbose error description of the last failure.
