Beyond FTP - Scheduling and Archiving

Back to Feature TourBack to Feature Tour Back Next

Beyond FTP allows you schedule your transfers for any time or date.

  Transfer instructions include:

  • None
The default. Transfer occurs under all circumstances.

  • Add
Transfer if the destination file is missing.

  • Freshen
Transfer if the destination file exists and is older than the source.

  • Rollback
Transfer if the destination file exists and is newer than the source.

  • Synchronize
Transfer if the destination file is missing or is older than the source.

 Archiving instructions include:

  • None
Cancels any archive instructions. Archiving is off.

  • Source
Archives source file after the transfer is completed.

  • Destination
Archives the target file before the transfer is completed.

  • Both
    Combination of Source and Destination.

All files being archived are placed in the sub-directory Archive. This sub-directory is created in the path of the file being renamed. Only the most recent version of each file is maintained if the Replace option is specified. Prior versions are replaced each time the transfer completes. If the Replace option is not included, Beyond FTP appends the current date and time to the file to create a unique name. This happens for every file that is archived.

The format is:

<file name>_yyyymmdd-hhmmss

There is no limit to the number of versions that can be saved.
