Beyond FTP 2.6.0 Released

Howell, Michigan - April 24, 2002: Automated Programming Technologies, Inc., a Michigan based software development firm, announced today the release of Beyond FTP 2.6.0.

Beyond FTP is a secure, easy to use tool for distributing corporate data, documents and digital files over the Internet or a corporate Intranet. Several new enhancements have been added to the product that make it the professionals' choice.

Beyond FTP now interfaces to both Beyond FTP servers and traditional FTP servers giving it unparalleled flexibility.  As its name implies, Beyond FTP goes way beyond simple FTP clients,  allowing corporate professionals to secure, automate, schedule, control and monitor distributions and collections of important corporate data like never before.

Beyond FTP 2.6.0 incorporates many new features and enhancements.  The Beyond FTP Server release now includes a Standard FTP Server. This  allows non Beyond FTP Clients to transfer files to the file server and take advantage of Beyond FTP's  superior security system.  One of the more useful enhancements to the product has been the addition of IF - ELSE - END_IF conditional commands to the Beyond FTP scripting language.

Tim Townsend, Director of Engineering, describes this new feature,  "One of our design goals for version 2.6.0, was to make scripting easier for the user.  We have now included true conditional statements into our PowerScript™ scripting language and changed the way script results are displayed to the user.  This allows unprecedented flexibility and sophistication in scripts, but not at the expense of ease of use.  If customer feedback is an empirical way of judging success - then we have certainly met our design goals with this new release."
