The Add
Encryption Key dialog is used to translate key phrases into actual keys
that are used by the encryption algorithm. The key phrase is lost in this
process. The resulting generated key is actually a display key that must be
manipulated by Beyond FTP to produce the string that is used by the
encryption algorithms. While display keys are unique and may be compared to
determine whether the initial phrases agree, they are useless to anyone
attempting to decrypt messages using one of our standard algorithms.
